albums.digital keeps your memories. We collect as little as we need to do that, and we never sell your data.

What we store

  • Account: your email address, an optional name, and a hashed password if you set one. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and a Google account identifier.
  • Your albums: the files you upload, their captions, notes and page order, and photo metadata such as the date a photo was taken.
  • Visitors of shared albums: the name a visitor enters to comment, their comments and likes, and an anonymous browser identifier so they can undo a like.
  • Usage statistics: how often each photo in an album is viewed, counted per day. We don't build profiles of individual visitors.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, never your card details.

Where it is stored

Files are stored with Amazon Web Services in Stockholm, Sweden (EU), and served through Amazon CloudFront. The application runs on Fly.io in Stockholm. Emails are sent through Amazon SES.

Cookies and analytics

We always use one essential session cookie to keep you signed in and to remember unlocked albums. This cookie needs no consent.

If you choose Accept analytics in the cookie note, we also use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and actions such as creating an album or upgrading a plan. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for up to two years and processes data on Google's servers, which may be outside the EU. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4; advertising features and Google signals are turned off. If you choose Only essential, or make no choice, Google Analytics is never loaded. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

All fonts are served by albums.digital itself, so no data goes to Google Fonts.

Your rights

You can view and correct your data in the app, download your albums at any time, and delete your account. Deleting an album removes its files after 30 days in the trash; deleting your account removes everything. For any other request, such as a copy of your data, email info@albums.digital.
