Frequently asked questions

What is albums.digital?

A place to keep your photos and videos as albums you can actually leaf through. Each album is a book on an old writing desk: lift it, open it, turn the pages, and pull a photo out to look closer or read what's written on its back.

Which files can I upload?

Photos in JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and GIF, and videos in MP4, MOV and WebM. Upload as many at once as you like; each file shows its own progress, and we keep your original file untouched.

Will my photos be compressed?

The pages show sizes that fit your screen, so albums open fast. Your originals stay exactly as you uploaded them, and you can download them at any time as a ZIP.

How are the pages laid out?

Our layout engine looks at the shape of each photo and arranges them so every page is filled without awkward gaps. You can still drag photos into a different order, start a new page wherever you want, or add a page of text.

Can I crop a photo?

Yes. Cropping never changes the original, and "Revert to original" is always one click away.

How do I share an album?

Create a share link. Each link has its own settings: whether visitors can like, comment or download, an optional password and an optional expiry date. You can revoke a link at any time.

Do the people I share with need an account?

No. Visitors only add their name the first time they leave a comment.

Can I see who looked at my album?

You see which photos are viewed, liked and commented on most, how many times each link was opened, and views over time. We don't track individual visitors.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

Your albums stay viewable and downloadable. You won't be able to add more than your plan allows until you upgrade again.

Can I delete my albums?

Yes. Albums go to the trash first and are deleted for good, including all files, after 30 days.
